It has been my joy and privilege to be intricately involved with two phenomenal and reality-altering projects, the ground breaking sleeper hit, “What the Bleep Do We Know?!” and now “Pass It On,” next to carry the torch for spreading the exciting message of “conscious creation.”
With “What the Bleep” I co-starred opposite Academy Award© Winner Marlee Matlin, spoke at “Bleep Conferences”, was the voice of ‘Circle’ in the “Flatland” sequences in the extended version, “Down the Rabbit Hole”, wrote and performed the end title song “What the Bleep?” which is also on the soundtrack, and finally, I produced “Bleep Fest 2006”, a festival celebrating the release of the special DVD and Soundtrack. “Intricately involved”, indeed.
With “Pass It On” I’m on the other side so to speak, not acting this time but sharing my experiences and knowledge in the areas of Wealth, Inspiration, Success and Happiness. I am also writing for the accompanying book, speaking on the tour, as well as writing and performing the theme song “WISH It Now”. I am happily and gratefully along for the ride. Willing to show up and share all that I am capable of, which is quite a lot for a gal in “Hollyweird”.
Countless people have come up to me asking me all sorts of questions about these projects, ranging from the personal to the scientific. Naturally, I have more thorough answers for the personal questions than the scientific, because after all, I’m not a scientist. I only play one on TV.
I have found that several of the same questions keep coming up over and over; so, I’m going to share some of my answers to these since they have proven to be more than a trend. First though, let me give you a little more about my background so you will know from where my perspectives come.
I am an only child of divorced parents. I grew up in the South, originally from Tennessee and then Georgia. I went to a performing arts school, won a model search and traveled the world modeling and dancing for major companies like Nike, Levi’s, and Mattel. Finally, in 1992 I moved to Los Angeles where I began my professional acting career. Career success came quickly thanks to my talent, enthusiasm and discipline.
I have faced both expected and unexpected passing of many loved ones, including several longtime friends, all my grandparents, and a fiancée. I have overcome health challenges including being hit by a car while I was riding a bicycle, a burst appendix, and generalized anxiety disorder accompanied by panic disorder and moderate depression. I grew up Catholic, have been a member of AGAPE with the Rev. Dr, Michael Beckwith for over a decade, and spent many years studying with both Native Americans and Yogis. My family is a moderately liberal, middle-class, white-collar one. I am a registered Democrat, though I would probably actually be considered more of an Independent.
When I was a child I was extremely sensitive and took in every subtle nuance in my environment. I believed in reincarnation long before I even knew there was an actual word for it. I believed in angels and spirits, and a basic idea that the world is good. I loved school and learning. Luckily, I was encouraged to be creative and express myself. I was a leader, and loved being on teams. Now I am grown, and each of these still applies.
I think it is important to know as much as you can, both informational and intuitively, about a source when considering their thoughts, feelings, ideas and opinions. So there you go, and here I go. The following is my side of a typical conversation demonstrating my answers to some of “your” questions:
“Hi. Nice to meet you too.”
“Sure. Ask me anything you like. Can’t guarantee I’ll have an answer, but ask away. “
“Yes, this ‘quantum physics, create your own reality, science stuff’ is real. And yes, there is still so much to learn and discover. I just practice staying open-minded and seeing what works for me. I use my gut and my mentors as sounding boards for that. Nothing like honest feedback from your body sensations and/or another trusted individual.”
“Yes, the information can be overwhelming, but if you watch these kinds of movies over and over it will sink in to deeper levels of understanding…automatically.”
“No, I do not belong to any one organization, and certainly not to any cults. I don’t believe anyone has a monopoly on ‘truth’.”
“Well, if there is no “right” or “wrong”, there is nothing really to stop you from micro-waving your cat, except your own accountability. But let me ask you this, ‘Why would you want to argue for a reality where cats were being micro-waved?’” (Okay, this one wasn’t asked a lot, but someone actually did ask it.)
“Yes, I personally believe in all this ‘quantum physics, create your own reality, science stuff.” I constantly have questions, but I think questions are good. Mostly I feel excited to think that anything is truly possible.”
A few of my favorite ways I “create my life” are:
Having fun
Affirmations
Focusing on actual images of things I want to create
Being consistent and persistent in my commitment and dedication to my own unique creation(s)
Recognizing my feelings as messengers of my thoughts – then examining both, and making desired adjustments (if necessary)
Some of my favorite books I read that have inspired me along the way:
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Handle with Prayer by Alan Cohen
The Worry Cure by Robert L. Leahy
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
I think there are a few key ways people hold themselves back: 1. Ignoring/denying/ repressing thoughts and feelings they are afraid of, so the compensation of that turns into some unhealthy habits that get turned into ways of life, and then turned into reality; and 2. Not taking meaningful, consistent steps to change. 3. Just simply not believing dreams do come true and miracles do happen.
Absolutely, you can heal your life! AND you don’t have to wait to heal completely to have the life you want. They are not mutually exclusive. They are completely inclusive. The process is the same. Here’s one way to approach it: start with identifying, in whatever way resonates with you, the life you want, and go towards it with passion, commitment and being IN your body (be present). Place your focus unwaveringly on what you do want, not on what you don’t want (though I believe both are important to know.)
You know what, I ultimately think YOU need to determine exactly what you need. Your successes, goals, desires, wants, needs, etc… are going to be different than mine or anyone else’s. So any advice or instruction someone tells you might or might not apply to you, might or might not work for you. But it is up to you to discern this.
No, you don’t have to do it alone. In fact, I highly recommend mentors. A mentor just makes the journey so much more rich and full, and helps to make possibilities seem that much more attainable. Two of my mentors are Sally Kirkland and Jeffrey Allen.
Sure, you can have more than one mentor.
The best piece of advice I think I could give is, “Keep your focus on the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ will be reveled. Life and all its creation is a process. Enjoy it.”
“Of course you can hug me. I like hugs.”
“Oh, you’re welcome, and thank YOU! It was my pleasure. I’m truly grateful to have been a part of such amazing projects, and I love sharing ideas about them with others.”
“Ha! No, I’m not related to Jimi, but I get asked that all the time. Take care. Bye.”
I look forward to future revisions to see how the questions…and answers…evolve.
