Powerful, yet to the point
When you're a busy mom of 2 children under 5 you don't usually get the luxury of reading books with words having more than one or two syllables. Simplicity is KEY! So when I do get the chance to read these days, I prefer it to be something substantive and to the point. Usually those two words don't work together. But with Guy Finley's book, The Essential Laws of Fearless Living, I was pleased to find they do.
Profound, inspiring, and enlightening and one chapter can be read in 10 minutes. Whether you're new to your own self-discovery or you've been at it for a while, this book is an important addition to your library. For me, it's books like this that keep me going on the path. Nothing profoundly new – but so much of a great reminder.
I was so thankful to have read this book right now; still coming down from making What the BLEEP and still trying to figure out how all of this stuff actually works in my life. Guy's book helped me simplify it all to one sentence: Attitude is everything!
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly we (I) forget those three powerful words. Each chapter is broken into a key lesson, a short anecdote, and some wise advice on how to achieve your goals with a quick review at the end. Like I said –easy reading never had such an impact on my life like this. Guy reminds us that everything we need is within us and sometimes we just need to remember how to get there. Peel back the layers that we put on and find our true selves and love that true self. So enjoy some easy reading that will have you back in the saddle again living life from a powerful place of creation.
While I’m on the subject of one liners that really say it all, we took our 4 year old to see Kung Fu Panda (really we took dad to see Kung Fu Panda!). What a beautiful message for kids and us grown ups too. There is no secret it’s all within you! My husband almost cried right there in the theater. He laughed so hard and said, “who would’ve thought a movie about a panda would have such an impact on me right now.” Sometimes we’re so busy looking for the secret we complicate things so much.
So there you have it “Attitude is everything” and “There is no secret but to believe in yourself!” Now if everyone could just follow those two little sentences we’d be rockin’!
